This release introduced an optimization in the handling of bans, which is a method for doing cache invalidation in Varnish. While the optimization significantly reduces locking contention, it unfortunately introduced a regression that may in certain setups lead to a crash.
We advise against using 6.0.16r2 at this time. Users who have already installed this version should downgrade to 6.0.16r1.
A fix for the regression has already been prepared, and we expect to release 6.0.16r3 within the next few days.
