This release is a bug fixing release, with the following fixes:

• Nonblocking handshake for fetch transactions.
• Backport the fix of 1955.
• Don’t test gunzip for partial responses.

This update is recommended for all users of 4.0.

Users should also consider upgrading further to 4.1.9r3, which includes performance enhancements and bug fixes not available in the 4.0 series.
